Your last sentence "If not, I guess I will have to stay in the corporate world" indicates to me that you are not ready to strike out on your own (MLM, Party Plan or whatever). Working for yourself takes a lot of work, sacrifice and has its rewards, but you have to be ready for it. You need to be at the point of wanting something that corporate work can not offer, be it time freedom, income or personal growth. Ask yourself “Why do I want to start my own business and what am I willing to sacrifice to do it?”. Be sure that you can answer this with conviction. Don’t try to do it half heartedly or you’ll fail and become syndical about working for yourself. Learn how to be successful, develop your ‘why’ and only then decide what business to start.

this just depends on you and what you like to do. Party plans usually mean inventory and keeping track of other people's orders. I just don't have time for that. Plus, if you want to really work from home, party plans don't let you do that, either. You could be home BASED but not really work FROM home.

Unlinke MLM, party plans are not scams or require you to con your family members to join.
Mary Kay, Tupperware, Avon...etc. fall under the party plan catagory.
You can earn as much money as you put the effort into it.
You have to put yourself and your product out there for people to see. Home businesses are hard work, but if you enjoy what you do and have faith in your products, it won't feel like work at all.
Your best bet is to find a product(s) that not many people are selling but customers want. Mary Kay, Avon, Tupperware are out. Too many people are selling this stuff.
Try searching for "party plan opportunities" or "Work at home mom or WAHM"
